State and County Parties

The campaign reports filed by the state parties disclose transactions involving multiple party controlled funds. The campaign laws do not require the parties to disclose these transactions broken down by each particular fund. Rather, the parties are permitted to file reports that cover all of the funds together. There are separate disclosures of the State Party Income Tax Checkoff Funds and the State Party Building Funds. The following funds are covered by the campaign disclosure reports filed by the state parties:

Iowa Democratic Party

  1. House Truman Fund
  2. Joint Truman Fund
  3. Senate Majority Fund
  4. Iowa Democratic Party
  5. Levin Fund

Republican Party of Iowa

  1. Eisenhower Club
  2. Legislative Majority Fund
  3. Technology Fund
  4. Iowa Victory Fund
  5. Iowa Governor's Fund
  6. Iowa Chairman's Fund
  7. House Majority Fund

Building/Corporate Fund Reports

These reports show the receipts and expenditures by state parties from their building fund accounts pursuant to rule 351-4.24. So long as monies in these funds are not used for certain purposes as set out by rule, corporations, financial institutions, and insurance companies may make contributions to these funds. Reports cover the prior year.

Income Tax Checkoff Fund Reports

These reports show the receipts and expenditures by state parties from the Iowa Election Campaign Fund pursuant to Iowa Code sections 68A.601-68A.609 and rules in 351-Chapter 3. Money in the Fund is provided by taxpayers as a checkoff on their income tax filings. Reports cover the prior year.
