The Board's administrative rules are found in Chapter 351 of the Iowa Administrative Code.
Administrative rules implement or interpret law, prescribe policy, or describe the organization, procedure, or practice requirements of an executive branch agency. Rules are drafted by the agency, reviewed by the Governor's Office, and ultimately approved by the Administrative Rules Review Committee, a joint Iowa Senate and House of Representatives committee.
Once adopted, administrative rules have the force and effect of law. Failure to comply with the Board's administrative rules may result in legal action.
